EXCERPT
That was an angel’s life. Sometimes, like now, faced with darkness in all directions and the enormity of eternity,
he waxed philosophical—was it really a life, if he couldn’t die?
Back to business. He closed his eyes and let his senses expand, to see if he could detect the ethereal glow of
demons and their SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES. There was nothing, as he expected. No glow in his conscious, no activity
he could detect.
In the distance, he could hear the roar of car engines coming his way, getting louder and sliding into a high
whine as they strained up the steep incline. He ignored it, for now—he’d left his blinkers on, so he wasn’t
too worried about them running him over the edge of the cliff. But just to be sure, he sent his mind towards
the sound, and was surprised by how fast they were moving.
As he probed a bit more, he suddenly realized that it wasn’t just a car moving up the hill. They were street
racing, and they were heading right... for...
Him.
Kept me hooked on the creative story and fast paced story line for the net The story was most unusual but that is fitting for a fantasy book. It contains all the elements of a good fantasy story angels, demons, some characters that are very realistic. I like the characters and they were well developed.
The author is very descriptive and detailed which is great as far as I am concerned. She makes the characters, scenes and plot fairly come alive with her detailed descriptions. I admire this a great deal about her writing. If you want to close your eyes and imagine the scenes, and characters in detail you can from her descriptions.
I liked the book overall but I probably will not read the whole series the story was too short and to charge for what 82 pages is not my idea of what I want to pay out in a book. It seems popular with a lot of authors not to cut series shor and make you pay for book after book. The ending was way too abrupt.
